    Room Tracker is a household location-sharing app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
  

1. Information We Collect

When you use Room Tracker, we collect the following information:

Email address — collected when you create an account using email and password, or when you sign in with Google.
Display name — your name as shown to other household members. You set this during sign-up.
Room check-in data — which room you are currently in, and a log of your check-in and check-out events within your household session.
Google account information — if you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.

We do not collect GPS location, device location, or any location data outside of the room selections you manually make within the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To display your name and current room to other members of your household session.
To maintain a shared activity log of room check-ins within your session.
To allow you to join or create household sessions using a shared code.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Realtime Database and Firebase Authentication), operated by Google LLC. Data is stored in Google's secure cloud infrastructure.

Room check-in data is only accessible to members of the same household session. Each session is protected by Firebase security rules that prevent unauthorised access.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties, except:

Google Firebase — our cloud infrastructure provider, which processes and stores data on our behalf.
Other household members — your display name and current room are visible to people in the same household session that you have joined.

5. Data Retention

Your account data and room history are retained for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (see Section 8).

If you leave a household session, your check-in history within that session may remain visible to the session owner.

6. Children's Privacy

Room Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
